What is Psychoeducation?
Psychoeducation allows people to receive educational knowledge in a safe and supportive psychotherapy environment. A memory issue, such as Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia, can provoke powerful emotions in persons who have been diagnosed, as well as their family members and caregivers. While psychotherapy is an essential element of regulating those powerful reactions, having a clear grasp of what’s going on and what to expect in such situations. The Cerd Center’s psychoeducational intervention can help with this.
Our Approach
We’ve created a one-of-a-kind psychoeducational series for patients, family members, and caregivers suffering with dementia or moderate cognitive impairment at The Cerd Center. While psychoeducation is frequently done in a group environment, our series is tailored to each patient and family individually.
